FEN has developed and agreed a list of required site acceptance tests to allow biomethane sites to demonstrate their compliance to FWACV and GS(M)R. Please note this is not a complete list of site acceptance tests (SAT) and a full list of tests should be developed based on manufacturer's recommendations for all equipment. The only requirements detailed below are with regards to meeting FWACV and GS(M)R regulatory compliance.

The gas distribution networks (GDNs), in collaboration with Future Energy Networks (FEN) and biomethane service providers, have successfully developed a unified set of site acceptance testing (SAT) requirements and methodologies. This collective effort has established a consistent framework for application across the biomethane sector, delivering improved efficiency and alignment throughout the industry.

This Gas Industry Standard specifies the minimum requirements for standard weld end preparations for steel pipe, valves, fittings and pipe pups. This standard does not preclude the use of other weld end preparations for specific situations if permitted by the codes and standards which are applicable at the time.

This part of GIS/PL2 specifies requirements for squeeze-off tools and equipment used in the maintenance of polyethylene systems constructed from pipe of nominal size 16 mm to 800 mm inclusive and conforming to GIS/PL2-2 and GIS/PL2-8.

Ofgem (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) sets guaranteed standards of performance for all Gas Transporters (GT). These standards ensure that we provide the required level of service.

This GIS specifies requirements for rotary type compressors be used for ‘within grid gas compression’, owned and operated by Gas Distribution Networks.

This Gas Industry Standard* sets out requirements for Pig traps, Insulation Joints (IJs), Test ends and Pigs for use on steel pipeline systems operating on natural gas pressures greater than 7 bar and normally in the temperature range -20°C to 50°C. *Hereinafter referred to as 'this specification'.

Note: This is an interim specification which is still under development. Fittings may continue to be assessed against, and certified for conformance with, either GIS/F7: 2006 or GIS/F7:2021 until a replacement specification for both documents is published.
