Project Name: Deptford Church Street
Scheme background: The SGN/JDT mains replacement works formed part of Lewisham Council’s regeneration programme, which focused on upgrading roads, footways, and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) across the borough. The project was located within the London Borough of Lewisham.
Throughout the scheme, regular conference calls were held with JDT, Lewisham Council, Conway, and SGN,
alongside additional coordination meetings. These ensured clear communication of roles and responsibilities
and maintained programme momentum.
The scheme was highlighted during Lewisham Council’s resurfacing and SuDS programme. SGN took the
opportunity to deliver essential gas main and service replacement works in parallel, minimising disruption to the
local community. To facilitate the works, SGN collaborated closely with Conway Traffic Management, who were
already engaged in the council’s wider regeneration programme.
