Ahead of International Women’s Day 2026, IGEM is proud to recognise and celebrate the women shaping the future of the gas industry.

Across engineering, technical safety, policy, innovation, education and leadership, women are making a significant contribution to the strength and progression of our profession. Their expertise, commitment and leadership are vital as the energy sector continues to evolve.

IGEM remains committed to championing equity, diversity and inclusion across the gas engineering community. Through our Women in Gas events and our partnership with Women’s Utilities Network, we support collaboration, professional development and greater representation across the utilities sector. Our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Group continues to guide and strengthen this work, helping to promote a welcoming and inclusive professional environment for all.

One of the most powerful ways to inspire the next generation is by sharing real stories from across our industry. This year, we are once again highlighting case studies of women working in a range of roles across the gas sector, showcasing their journeys, achievements and insights.

As the energy sector evolves, the need for diverse thinking, inclusive leadership and broad representation has never been greater. By supporting women at every stage of their careers, from early education to senior leadership, we strengthen the profession as a whole.

In the lead-up to International Women’s Day, we celebrate this progress while reaffirming our commitment to building a truly inclusive industry.

We invite you to read the stories showcasing some of the inspiring women in our industry and join us in recognising their contribution to the gas engineering community.
